flowers for you!

Hi everyone!

Happy Sunday morning to you all!!

I have been pretty irregular with my bogging these days and I just cant seem to find time to write posts because of my laziness busy schedule! :D

I made a couple of cards and a tag in last two weeks. WOW! That's so unlike me as I used to craft everyday in the past.

OK...I'll stop here!

I've two cards to share with you today. If you are my friend on Face Book or follow me on Instagram, I'm sorry but you'll have to comment on the same cards you had seen there again! :D

I made the first card for Paper Smooches Sparks challenge. I used the Crystal Clear stamp set from Paper Smooches and 'Tree Friends' stamp set from Mama Elephant for the sentiment.

See those sea shells I used for the photo props? I LOVE THEM! I collected them on the sea shore with my hubby when we were in Vizag! They are so beautiful!
I was very much inspired by the wooden panels in the inspiration picture and tried to replicate them on my card. I also used the colors in the picture on my card in the form of stamped images and enamel dots.

To make this card, I first cut strips of wood grain card stock from Simon Says Stamp and sponged them very lightly with Vintage photo distress ink. Then, adhered them on the card base. The vase from 'Crystal Clear' stamp set and some flowers and leaves from the same stamp set were stamped on a piece of white card stock and fussy cut and assembled.

Stamped the sentiment and finished the card with some enamel dots.

The next card is for Virginia's View Challenge which this time happens to be 'All things metallic'.

Now, I'm no a great fan of metallic look. I don't know why but whenever I use metallic elements on my cards (except gold pearls of course! :)) something seems to be wrong! But I really had to give this one a try, especially after seeing Nichol Magouirk's card. It screamed elegance and I fell instantly in love with it... Love at first sight that is! :) The gold on white look was magical and I had to try it my way.

So, I die cut three Memory Box snowflake ornaments and applied Versamark ink and heat embossed them in gold.
On the card base, I applied Versamark ink to all four edges and heat embossed in gold. You don't really have to be very accurate with applying ink as you are anyway going to layer the top of the card base with more layers of card stock.
I then die cut two panels of white card stock using Mama Elephant Femme Frames die. Adhered the stitched die cut on the scalloped one. The embossed die cut ornaments were then adhered on the stitched layer and the string was hand drawn with Prisma gold colored pencil.
Then, the part of the die cut that makes the tails of the bow from Mama Elephant 'Dainty bows' was added on the top of the ornament and a gold metallic pearl was added on each of the ornament.
Then I felt something was not complete and after a few seconds, it occurred to me that the ornaments were too plain. So I added small white pearls to the ornament and felt satisfied.

Now for the little tip-
Have you noticed how the ornaments have the 'Worn out gold look' ? The gold on some parts of the ornament looks 'old' and 'vintage'. Well...that was a result of a happy accident! :) I was erasing little dried up glue on the card just adjacent to one of the ornament and I tried to remove it off with my eraser (normal eraser that you would use to erase pencil lines). Fortunately, I happened to rub on the die cut as well. after I was done, I noticed that the gold on that part of the die cut got dulled. I was so happy with the little accident that I had to make it look intentional! OK...Now it's no more a secret! :p

That's it for today peeps!

Thanks for visiting, means a lot to me!
