Altenew goodness!

Hello everyone!

Oh how I missed this happy little place!

I have so much to say but I will postpone the talking stuff for my next post.

I have been away for almost an year, I haven't been visiting your blogs... I'm very sorry! I have a strong reason for not being able to do so and most of you know it by now. I delivered my beautiful baby boy in August and he was the reason for my absence. I'm able to type this as he is asleep right now :)

I made a couple of cards and a neckpiece and earring set for the Altenew's November challenge. I just love their 'from the craft room' challenges!

Since I'm in a hurry to submit these for the challenge, I will edit the post later to include all the steps done to make these projects.

For both my cards, I used Fresh Freesia stamp set. I simply adore the stamp set and the thing that it has got a coordinating die. I didn't use the die though. I fussy cut the image.

I used Prisma colored pencils and gamsol to color my image. Then I didn't know how to incorporate navy blue in my card. Then I found an awesome Hero Arts stencil in my stash which I had not used. But inking that would dominate the flower image. So I placed the stencil on the base, took a navy blue pencil and randomly traced out the pattern which looks similar to the one on the envelope on the inspiration picture.

For the next card, I tried no line stamping and I have to say there is lot of practice needed to master it. It's not at all easy and hats off to those who make it look real simple.

I used distress inks to color the image. To incorporate navy, I found this pretty patterned paper from....sorry don't remember! The flowers on the navy blue colored paper had yellow centers. I didn't like the way the card looked once I finished it. So I took the navy blue colored pencil again and over did the yellow centers. I liked the result! :) The gorgeous sentiment is from the same stamp set- Fresh Freesia

Since I got into jewellery making these days, I wanted to use my dear stamps in the jewellery project. Henna elements stamp set was perfect for the cause. This is what I made. The base of the pendant and earrings is paper and thanks to Pritesh for the awesome video tutorial that explains how to arrange an eye pin in the paper pendant. Will link the tutorial later.

So that is all for now. See you soon...

Keep an eye on the blog, there is going to be a giveaway.. :)
Thanks for dropping by...

Take care.
